This is a post from script Yorkshire which explains upcoming scriptwriting workshops for anyone who wants to learn the art and craft of scriptwriting and how to sell scripts. I will be attending these sessions to improve my scriptwriting craft which will help with my assignment of creating a script and pitching this script to a producer.

SlungLow are opening their
quirky doors to Script Yorkshire. So come along and meet them on
Saturday 13th April down at their HUB space under the railway arches in
Leeds … because what they have to say just might open more doors for
you.
Artistic Director Alan Lane,
along with SlungLow’s most recent hook-up Porl Cooper, HUB & General
Manager (former Development Programmer for the Lowry Studio) are
prepared to share with us some of their knowledge, expertise, practical
tips & key contacts regarding what’s out there for Writers right
now.
Alan Lane: “I
see a new emergence for writers. The opportunies are currently out
there. If writers get the right contacts, make a slight creative shift
in their thinking & perhaps go outside or beyond the script … if
they’re prepared to work more collaboratively on projects too, then it’s
a very exciting time for them. And I do mean projects where the script
really matters … that have story and character at their heart.”
SlungLow do not read scripts
but are always open to ideas. They have their finger on the current
pulse & with Porl Cooper on board these are very exciting times for
us Yorkshire folk. Porl is bringing his award-winning magic across the
Pennines and we welcome that! And with the SlungLow partnership it’s a
very exciting prospect.
